WSJ Reports New Tax Act Might Give Choice to Estates of 2010 Decedents

The Wall Street Journal reports that Senate staffers working on the language of the tax cut extension bill are considering tossing in language to allow the estate of those who died in 2010 to elect to use the new 2011 law.  This would allow more estates to get a step up in income tax basis on all assets.

This is the first credible mention I have heard on this exact issue for months.

This is continuing to be interesting.
